4. Acclimatisation is Essential

Before installation, solid oak profiles must be acclimatised on-site. This crucial step minimises the risk of moisture-related movement or distortion once installed.

We recently noticed higher wear on our Luxwrap Aluminium profiles, especially in busy areas like Stairnosings, and in rare cases, transitions and adaptations. After careful review, we found that the aluminium hardness is not the best match for the paper used in our profiles, which was originally designed for MDF applications like skirting boards.

To fix this, we have worked closely with our supplier to develop a better solution. We are pleased to announce that a superior-grade FOIL paper has been ordered and will soon be used in our Luxwrap profiles. This upgrade will make the profiles more durable and longer lasting.

While we wait for the FOIL to arrive, we are taking immediate action to strengthen our existing Luxwrap Aluminium profiles. We are applying a special 2K sealer to all wrapped aluminium profiles, which will:

1. Vastly improved durability
2. Enhanced moisture protection
3. A longer-lasting, more resilient finish

These proactive measures will ensure that our Luxwrap Aluminium profiles continue to meet and exceed expectations while we transition to the new, superior FOIL-enhanced profiles. At FINFloor, we remain dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality flooring solutions that stand the test of time.
